In 1968, Christopher Nupen founded one of the first (if not the first) independent television production companies in the United Kingdom. Aided by the invention of silent 16mm film cameras, Nupen became the pioneer of a completely new and intimate style, blending documentary and performance on film. He instinctively filmed musicians at close quarters on stage (and backstage), in their natural environment, where they have most to offer. The effects were dramatic and brought countless numbers of people to music for the first time, breaking down the barriers between musicians and the wider public. Over 70 productions, spanning five decades, the Allegro Films music archive is a unique body of work that remembers many of our great artists, as no other medium can equal.
Today, Allegro Films is as busy as ever, under the stewardship of Christopher Nupen’s wife Caroline and the film-maker Matthew Percival.
Allegro Films is part of the UA-cam channel network of NIKITA VENTURES.

❤
Bravo Bravissimo! Brahms performance is the classical romantic and is not simple to blend feeling and form with precision intro statement exposition thematic conclusion.

Chopin. Beautiful...:)
I like this guy. Is ok ❤️❤️❤️
Great🔥
He lived in a time when you could get away with that. It would be hard to earn a living playing classical guitar today and find the kind of support you would need to pay rent for your family. Segovia was the greatest master of the guitar ever. Earning that kind of street cred today would be demoralizing what with the state of the music industry today. Push button computer music programmers are all we have today! Who wants to work that hard!? The 8 hours a day of pure practice! Few have the drive and work ethic. But Segovia had it all! He made it happen in his day! BRAVO MAESTRO!

When I hear this piece, I think it’s a piano work with violin obligato.
So great
Great speech
Great spirit, rhythmic and dynamic control, but his tone is not so great, being very naily. Nevertheless, his recording of this piece inspired me to take up guitar (and later turn it into a career) about 50 years ago.
Bravo
never heard it played on flute, sounds very good though
17:57 onward … CONCENTRATION, INSPIRATION and TALENT. An amazingly gifted, disciplined artist. Even through the perspiration drops falling down a countenance of effort and a lifelong achievement of culture and exactitude. What a virtuoso, Perlman. I 'suspect' JS Bach would be proud. 😉
this is so beautiful. I am admittedly jealous of the pepole in the adience who got to hear this masterpiece live.
❤
Producer of Itzhak Perlman's Saint John's Smith Square performance: "Itzhak, we'd love to engage you to perform Bach's Partita in D Minor. Can you deliver a powerful and moving performance with as close to perfection as humanly possible? Itzhak Perlman: "Well, I could say, 'No sweat,' but I don't think I could promise you that given the air conditioning at Saint John's Square."
Fi nalmente encontrei o meu Andres Segovia e a sua Gavotte. O meu vinil era muito velhinho. Obrigada ❤❤❤❤❤
I know he is the best but that's not why i like to hear him so much. What i like is to see that he is trying to do his best at every moment. I know that from his face. I really love him.
I appreciate for this performance

What a beautiful tribute to M's friend. Just mesmerizing music, playing and video.
The list of bossy, choleric conductors is long, just think of Barenboim . Jaqueline du Pré is wonderful, unique, but Barenboim a disgusting guy, all for the career and du Pré had to deal with her MS diagnosis alone. You shouldn't call it a Love Story, that's absolute mockery!!
Georgeous Sonata
Comfort and gracefulness of Kissin’s performance are immeasurable profound and off the charts
Probably truer to Chopins true softer ,delicate physique but yhere is always the angry, disenchanted ,hystericalagitato Chopin. His music is polarized by at least two psychological phenomena the hard extremely discontented Chopin and the giddy, exuberant stylish Parisian who misses Poland and doesnt get Beethoven bad moods but loves the Missa Solemnis. Maybe like every human being every composer is many things.
A great genius God bless his memory
52:40 What is the song
A few people have said to me "You know Al - things have progressed". "Really?" "Show me". ---Better than Segovia? - Whatever you say.... Sorry - I don't buy it...
Semplicemente sublime!
I first saw these two great violinists live in the early 1970s, invariably with the English Chamber Orchestra at the QEH (London) ...
“That little sweat ball just wouldn’t fall off” Rosanne Rosannadanna.
i come back to watch this every couple years and am always stunned. The prolonged (to me compared to most performances) silence between the last note and the applause is telling. I think they knew they had just heard and witnessed greatness and transcendance on a sacred level!
